National textbook review and analysis from a gender perspective: report of findings

The present Report of findings describes the research process and synthesizes the main outcomes of the primary education textbook analysis from a gender perspective carried out by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) in 2009 with the support of the UNESCO Ha Noi Office and the UNESCO International Bureau of Education (IBE). This project is part of UNESCO’s support to MOET in the context of the UN/Government of Viet Nam Joint Programme on Gender Equality (JPGE), which aims to enhance the capacities of Vietnamese authorities and other duty bearers to implement the Law on Gender Equality (GEL) and the Law on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control (DVL) in different realms, including education.
