The first section of the manual discusses theoretical aspects of the concept of gender. The second section examines how gender matters in the four selected areas of peace operations – DDR, Human Rights and Rule of Law, Negotiation and Mediation, and Election Monitoring. The third section provides tools to help conduct training in a gender-sensitive way. Various background information about gender can be found in the annex of the manual.
